For core commercial categories, 20 to 50 units per design. Minimums move with construction complexity and material cost, not with category alone: a plain band and a pavé ring of the same weight carry different minimums because the labour differs. Premium and high jewellery are quoted piece by piece. First-run and repeat-run pricing are not the same, because the first run absorbs mould and setup cost.

How long does jewellery production take from CAD to delivery?

Eight to fourteen weeks from approved CAD, milestone based. The clock starts after design approval, sampling sign-off and sourcing are complete, not at the first conversation. Sampling adds two to four weeks before that. Stone sourcing is the variable that most often moves the date: calibrated goods are quick, matched coloured stones are not.

Yes, and it is routine. The standard is not set by geography but by the specification and by who inspects against it. Thai manufacturing carries deep competence in setting and finishing. What usually fails is the brief: a drawing without tolerances, a finish described as "high polish" with no reference sample. With a Quality Book agreed before production and inspection at casting, setting, finishing and pre-shipment, the outcome matches what was approved in sampling.

Who checks the jewellery during production?

Every phase is inspected on the factory floor and signed off before the next one begins: casting, setting, finishing, pre-shipment. Nothing moves forward on a photograph or a verbal assurance. A brand that cannot station someone in Bangkok gets the same thing anyway, because the release at each stage is given in person, against the approved sample.

Is production done in your own factory or through partners?

Both, and the choice follows the piece. Some work runs through production facilities under direct control, which shortens the chain and keeps cost and schedule accountable to one party. Other work goes to certified specialist partners in Thailand, because setting, enamel or a specific finishing discipline is better served by a workshop built around it. Either way the specification, the inspection and the sign-off stay in the same hands.

Which materials are available for production in Thailand?

Accepted Answer

Gold in 18K, 14K and 9K, yellow, white and rose. Platinum, silver 925 and 999, palladium, titanium and stainless steel. Alloys come from certified suppliers with assay documentation on request. Stones: natural diamonds in round, fancy cut and fancy colour, plus coloured gemstones and project-specific sourcing, all supplied with grading information.

Can a brand start with a small capsule instead of a full collection?

Yes, and it is usually the right way in. A launch capsule of six to ten designs tests construction, cost and market response before the range architecture is fixed. Scaling from a capsule to a full range afterwards is straightforward; unwinding a full range that was priced wrong is not.
